NEW CLASS - Wing Chun

A new class in Wing Chun, a Chinese self defence martial art, is starting at the Bodywork Centre in Hexham on 16 June 2011. The class will run every Thursday 6.30pm - 7.30pm, see classes for directions to the venue.

Wing Chun is based on the principle of using skill, footwork and sensitivity to control an opponent who is bigger and stronger. It is suitable for both women and men and helps develop relaxation, strong legs, self confidence as well as being fun. Beginners are welcome at any time. The class is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Hong Kong and China Trip - Jan 2012

A group of over 50 Tse Qigong Centre members followed Master Tse on an epic trip to Hong Kong and China. Sifu Christine was on the trip and had the privilege of meeting her Wing Chun Tai Sigong grand master Ip Chun on many occasions in both Hong Kong and China. Xmas 2011 break

The schedule of classes over the Christmas period is as follows:

  • Qigong: last class on Wed 14 Dec, classes resume on Wed 11 Jan
  • Tai Chi: last class on Wed 14 Dec, classes resume on Wed 25 Jan
  • Chun Yuen: last class on Wed 14 Dec, classes resume on Wed 25 Jan
  • Wing Chun: last class on Thur 15 Dec, classes resume on Thur 26 Jan

Wed 30 Nov and Thur 1 December 2011

There will be no Tai Chi or Chun Yuen classes on Wed 30 Nov.

The Qigong class is running as normal on Wed 30 Nov.

There will be no Wing Chun class on Thur 1 Dec.

Wednesday 9 Nov 2011 - Hexham Seminar

Sigong Martin Gale will be visiting the Hexham class for a special seminar on Wednesday 9 Nov 2011. This is a two hours seminar (6.30pm to 8.30pm), and there will be no class on that night. The seminar will include practice, polishing and demonstration of Qigong, Chun Yuen Quan, Chen TaijiQuan and Wing Chun skills. The seminar will take place at the Bodyworks Centre in the usual room where classes are held. Everybody is welcome to attend, first timers, beginners and seniors alike. After the seminar, we will go for a meal and everybody is welcome to join.

Summer 2011 - Class Schedule

There will be a break of 5 to 6 weeks during the summer. The last classes will be on Wednesday 3 August and Thursday 4 August.

The Wednesday class (Qigong, Tai Chi and Chun Yuen) will recommence on Wednesday 14 September.

The Thursday class (Wing Chun) will recommence on Thursday 22 September.

There will be a two weeks break over the Easter period. The last class before Easter will be on Wed 13 Apr. Classes will resume on Wed 4 May. There will be no class on Wed 20 Apr and Wed 27 Apr.

Hexham Seminar 19 May 2010

Sigong Martin Gale is visiting the Hexham class for a third time, and as before the seminar will include practice, polishing and demonstration of Qigong, Chun Yuen Quan, Chen TaijiQuan and Wing Chun skills. The seminar will take place at the Bodyworks Centre in the usual room where classes are held. After the seminar, we will go for a meal and everybody is welcome to join.

New Taijiquan class starting 3 March 2010

A new Taijiquan (Tai Chi Quan) class is starting on 3 March 2010, 7.30pm - 8.30pm, at the Bodyworks Centre (see classes for  venue location). This class will cover the Taijiquan skill from the Chen tradition.

Important: If you have never attended a Taijiquan, Qigong or Chun Yuen Quan class, please come at 6.20pm for registration. You can then stay for the Qigong class (6.30pm - 7.30pm) or return at 7.30pm for the start of the Taijiquan and Chun Yuen Quan classes.

Special Seminar

Sigong Martin Gale is returning to the Hexham class for a second seminar on

25 November 2009, 6.30 to 8.30pm

The seminar will take place at the Bodyworks Centre in the usual room where classes are held.

The seminar will include practice, polishing and demonstration of Qigong and Chun Yuen Quan forms. In addition, Sigong will continue with his introduction to the self defence martial arts of Wing Chun and Chen Taijiquan, which is always fun to experience. After the seminar, we will go for a meal and everybody is welcome to join.
